Increasing Available RAM
Overview
Proctorio requires at least 2 GB of free RAM to support a stable exam experience. For example, a device with 4 GB of RAM should have 2 GB available during the exam. Insufficient RAM may cause incomplete page loading, freezing, or unexpected browser crashes.
Proctorio will alert test-takers on the Before You Begin page if their device memory is low: "It looks like your computer is pretty busy right now. You can still proceed with your exam, but we recommend that you close all open tabs and any application you have running in the background and try again."

Quick Fix
Try these quick steps before an exam to free up RAM on your device:
- Close/quit all unneeded open applications.
- Restart your device.
- Try a different supported browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, or Brave).
