Exam Content Missing or Page Not Loading

If some or all exam content is missing, or if the exam page does not load as expected, it is often due to one of several common issues. Review the sections below to identify the cause and apply the recommended steps.

This image illustrates a secure exam browser interface where the test content appears to be missing or blocked, indicated by a large crossed-out document icon in the center. On the right-hand side, a vertical proctoring toolbar is visible, showing the test-taker's video feed, monitoring tools, and system status indicators, confirming that the session is under active surveillance.

  • Unstable Connection: Your connection may be unstable or slow, especially if Wi-Fi or hotspot signal is weak.

  • Extension Conflicts: Other browser extensions or plugins may interfere with the exam page.

  • Outdated Software: Your browser or operating system may need an update to support exam content.

  • Device Limitations: Insufficient RAM or CPU resources may prevent content from loading properly.

  • Provider Outages: The LMS, assessment platform, or hosting service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, increased traffic, or an update issue.

  • Security Blocks: Expired certificates, unsecured hosting, or filters/firewalls may block the content.

  • Invalid Links: The image or file link may be broken, outdated, or typed incorrectly.

Quick Fixes

  1. Refresh the page: The content may load after a brief delay.
  2. Wait a moment: If your connection is slow, give the page additional time to load.
  3. Check your connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection. If using Wi-Fi or a hotspot, move closer to the router or switch to a wired connection if possible.

Next Steps

  1. Disable other browser extensions temporarily: Other extensions may interfere with exam content. (See Disabling Other Extensions)
  2. Check for browser updates: Ensure your browser is up to date. (See Checking for Updates)
  3. Try a different browser: Switch to Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, or Brave.
