Checking for Updates
Overview
To maximize compatibility, stability, and security, Proctorio may require test-takers to update their device before accessing an exam. Before testing, users should check for available browser, operating system, and hardware updates and restart their device to install any pending updates. Please review the sections below for guidance on performing recommended updates.
Updating Your Browser
Current web browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera, automatically update each time the browser is closed and reopened. If an update is available, a notification will appear in the top-right near the Settings button; simply click the notification or restart your browser to install the available update.
To check for updates:
Type "chrome://settings/help" into the browser address bar and press Return. (Alternatively, open the browser menu and select Help > About "Your Browser".)
Click Relaunch or Restart to install any available updates.
