Disabling Other Extensions

Overview

You may need to disable all other browser extensions to meet exam administrator requirements or to resolve recurring issues. Because Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera are all Chromium-based, the steps are nearly identical across supported browsers.

Instructions

  1. Type “chrome://extensions” into your Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Opera address bar; press Enter. (Alternatively, open Extensions > Manage Extensions.)

  2. Disable (or remove) all extensions except the Secure Exam Proctor extension.

This image shows the Chrome browser's extensions management page. The user has opened the browser menu and selected “Manage Extensions,” revealing a grid of installed extensions with toggle switches to enable or disable each one.

Troubleshooting: If you cannot disable or remove the necessary extensions, you may want to try using an alternate supported browser or device. For users signed in to a managed Google or Microsoft profile provided by their school or employer, you can sign out and attempt to use a personal profile.
