EDU Implementation Toolkit

Overview

The EDU Implementation Toolkit provides resources to help schools, districts, and higher education institutions roll out Proctorio to faculty, staff, and students. The toolkit includes downloadable syllabus templates, privacy notice templates, role-specific quick-start guides, and a hosted information microsite that can be used as a reference when building a Proctorio information page on your institution's website.

The downloadable resources are templates intended for customization, available in both PDF (for direct distribution) and Word (for institutions that need to make extensive customizations). Replace placeholder fields (institution name, contact information, effective dates, regional details) with your own information before distribution.

Note: Templates are provided for informational purposes and do not constitute legal advice. Privacy notice templates should be reviewed by your institution's legal or privacy office before publication.

How to Use These Resources

To deploy the toolkit at your institution:

  1. Download the resources that apply to your audience, region, and LMS. Each resource is available in PDF (for direct distribution) and Word (for institutions that need to make extensive customizations).
  2. Customize each template by replacing bracketed placeholder fields with your institution's information. Review any sections marked as instructions or guidance and remove them from the final version.
  3. Submit privacy notice templates to your institution's legal or privacy office for review before publication.
  4. Distribute the syllabus and quick-start guides through your LMS, course pages, faculty onboarding materials, and student support portals.
  5. Review the information microsite and use it as a reference when building a similar Proctorio information page on your institution's website. Link to your published page from your LMS, student handbook, and proctoring-related communications.

Caution: Some sections of these templates describe Proctorio's data privacy and security policies, technical safeguards, and operational practices. Modifying or removing this language can introduce inaccuracies or misrepresent how Proctorio handles student data. If your institution needs to adjust content related to data privacy or security beyond the bracketed placeholder fields, contact your account manager to confirm accuracy before publication.

Syllabus templates introduce Proctorio to students and outline what they can expect during a proctored assessment. Add a syllabus template to your course materials at the start of each term.

Privacy Notice Templates

Privacy notice templates provide institution-issued notices about how student data is collected, processed, and protected when Proctorio is used. Notices should be reviewed by your institution's legal or privacy office, customized with institution-specific details, and distributed to students before any Proctorio-supported assessment.

Information Microsite Template

The information microsite template is a hosted reference page that demonstrates how an institution can present proctoring expectations, technical requirements, and support resources to students, faculty, and staff in one location. Use the template as a model for building a similar page on your institution's website.

The template includes the following sections:

  • Assessment Integrity: explains why the institution uses online proctoring
  • About Proctorio: covers what Proctorio is, how it works, and privacy and AI transparency
  • Get Ready: extension installation, technical requirements, and support contacts
  • Get Started: role-specific guidance for students, faculty and staff, and platform administrators
  • Frequently Asked Questions: pre-written answers to common student questions, with space to add institution-specific entries
  • Implementation Guide (Admin Only): built-in instructions for customizing the page before publishing
