Following Hurricane Helene, colleges throughout the Southeast region of the United States are closed at least through the end of this week, and possibly longer due to the devastation caused by the storm. Tens of thousands of students are currently out of school as their institutions continue to assess the damage caused by the hurricane. Proctorio announced today that it will offer its online proctoring services free of charge for anyone affected, allowing students to take exams from remote locations.
Founder and CEO, Mike Olsen, stated, “Natural disasters can devastate entire communities, disrupting daily life. In these moments, our commitment to expanding learning through technology becomes even more important. That’s why we’re offering free remote proctoring to any institution affected by this tragedy—because we believe learning should never be out of reach, even in the toughest times”
Efforts to assess the damage to institutions and arrange logistics for relocating students to other schools are ongoing. Aware of the difficulties caused by the hurricane’s devastation, and the challenges of shifting between in-person and online learning during this turbulent time, Proctorio is dedicated to offering as much support as possible to help students through this transition.
