We're actively striving for a greener future by minimizing our carbon footprint and supporting projects worldwide to offset CO2 emissions. Since 2019, Proctorio has collaborated with ClimatePartner to adopt renewable energy, educate our team, and involve our entire supply chain in reduction efforts. ClimatePartner provides tools for measuring our carbon footprints, setting reduction goals, taking action to cut CO2 emissions, and backing verified climate projects.

Did you know our algorithms are trained solely on green energy? This is just one example of how we contribute to reducing the global carbon footprint. As a result, we’re 100% carbon-neutral and on our way to becoming carbon-negative!

Thanks to our partnership with ClimatePartner, we’ve proudly supported and contributed to some remarkable offset projects.

Improved access to clean water in the Zoba Maekel District, Eritrea

By repairing broken water wells, this project not only ensures access to clean water but also reduces the need for families to resort to boiling water over open fires. This dual benefit not only decreases CO2 emissions and deforestation but contributes positively to the fight against global warming.

Ocean protection through plastic collection

For every ton of CO2 saved through certified climate projects, 10 kg of plastic is collected from coastal regions. This intercepts plastic before it reaches the ocean, protecting sensitive marine ecosystems from pollution.

Sustainable forest management training in the state of Rondônia, Brazil

By empowering farmers through training in sustainable farming and forest management practices, this project prioritizes biodiversity conservation goals such as maintaining forest coverage and protecting wildlife species. Long-term forest protection is crucial for carbon storage, biodiversity preservation, and preventing deforestation.

Supporting Indigenous Peoples to avoid deforestation in Colombia

Collaborating with local communities, this project stimulates sustainable economic growth while promoting values of preservation and conservation. By prioritizing forest protection efforts, strengthened governance for indigenous territories can mitigate the negative impacts of deforestation.

For the second year in a row, we’ve partnered with Keep Nature Wild to organize cleanup events, aiming to reduce litter and support our local community. Last year, we tackled South Mountain in Phoenix, and this year, we focused on Papago Park. The cool thing about Keep Nature Wild is that for every apparel product sold, they pick up one pound of trash through these nationwide community cleanups. That’s just one of the many reasons why we worked with them to create these awesome t-shirts for our annual user conference this year!

On top of that, we joined the Adopt-A-Highway sponsorship program in 2023, which ensures segments of Arizona highways remain clean, safe, and litter-free. In 2023 alone, Proctorio’s sponsorship contributed to the cleaning of 162 miles, removing 189 bags of litter, totaling over 1,700 lbs.

Sustainability isn't just a priority for us outside the office; it's part of our daily operations within the office too! We've implemented various measures such as using energy-efficient lighting, powering our office with solar panels, using non-toxic cleaning products, opting for recycled furniture, practicing recycling, promoting low-impact commutes, observing meatless Mondays, employing drip irrigation, and maintaining a completely paperless office.

Moreover, our product is designed to minimize paper waste and emissions associated with traditional testing centers and paper exams. The carbon footprint of an exam with Proctorio is significantly lower, less than 1% (0.15kgCO2/258.67kgCO2) of the CO2 emitted by exams conducted at testing centers.
